1)Is it mandatory for drivers to wear an Instacart Lanyard?

No, it's not mandatory for Instacart shoppers to wear Lanyards all the time. However, Instacart provides Lanyard to all Instacart drivers so that they are easily identifiable while shopping for groceries inside a store.

Apart from this, it's up to the drivers whether they want to wear the Lanyard or not or when they want to wear it. There is no specific reason for Lanyard, it's just the brand logo which depicts that this particular driver is from this particular brand.

2)Can an Instacart driver make deliveries with someone else?

No, an Instacart shopper cannot make deliveries with someone else be it their family, their kids, etc. Unlike other apps Instacart express does not allow any of its shoppers to bring along minors with them or people who do not have an instacart account. However, Instacart express does not have anything personal against the people working for the organization but this policy is purely for safety and security reasons.

3)What should be done if someone wants to quit their services with Instacart?

Instacart express hires two different shoppers for two different roles- Full-service and In-store. If you are a Full-service shopper then a team member can deactivate your account immediately. But, if you are an In-store shopper, you have to forward your request with the cityteam for review.

The reason behind having two different methods for different posts is that Full-service shoppers are independent contractors and they earn their earnings according to them and the payment of In-store shoppers are on the basis of the salary mentioned in their offer letter.

4)Instacart drivers and Instacart shoppers are the same?

Yes, Instacart drivers and Instacart shoppers are the same. Because a shopper is a person who collects all the grocery list items from a store, makes payments for them and delivers them to the customers. While making deliveries, a successful shopper has to be really quick and needs to take care of certain things like-

  • Ensure safe delivery of eggs.
  • Safe delivery of Frozen/refrigerated items.
  • Packing should be proper for each product.
  • Manufacturing and expiry date of the products should be correct.
  • So being an Instacart shopper you have to take care of these things, only then you’ll be able to make deliveries possible and maintain good quality records.

5)How long is the waiting list for instacart applications?

The application process for Instacart jobs is not that long. You just have to download the app sign in and fill in the required details like-

  • Name.
  • Basic educational details.
  • Age, etc.

But after filling up these basic details Instacart express asks for permission to run a background check on you to ensure safety of the organisation and to maintain the decorum of the company. It does not hire personnel who have a criminal history, basically the company does not hire felons. I need to have a clear background in order to qualify for Instacart jobs applications. However, this background check takes around 10 days to complete and after the completion of this test you can join the company.
